D&RGW 223 Progress

September 14, 2010 03:22PM
All right, so the general concensus is more 223. So, in case you haven't checked on the official website (updated last Sunday, I just found out), here are some pictures of what we have done in the past month or so.

Richard Jr. grinds off bad rivets (we do make mistakes some times!)

Richard Sr. shows off the corner of the tender's top sheet that was cut by Maynard (the head hancho) on the bandsaw*.

Lee trims the deck planking on the rear of the tender.

A seldom-seen view, the inside of the tender tank. Every single one of those rivet holes were hand drilled.

The rear of the tender showing the ladder.
Next time I'm down there (I probably won't be this Saturday) I'll get some overall shots of the tender.

*With the help of six other people to hold the sheet up, entertaining to watch, to say the least.
