Tweetsie Railfan Weekend Sept 11-12

This coming weekend is Tweetsie's 2010 Railfan Weekend. This is the 6th
year that Tweetsie has hosted the event, and each year it continues to grow. This year's focus is on the 50th Anniversary of engine #190 at Tweetsie.Events for the weekend are to include train shop tours, unlimited train rides behind #190 and #12 pulling coach #5 (with the railfan pass), photo run-bys, a doubleheader on sunday morning, and a room filled with antiques from #12 and #190's past. Also this weekend we will be showing programs in the memorbilia room about the history of #12 and #190, a 2009 program made by UNCTv on the Tweetsie shops, and a behind the scenes look at the motion picture Mandie and The Cherokee Treasure, which was filmed at Tweetsie in early April. This event marks the beginning of a year in which North Carolina will become the focus of the Narrow Gauge world as Hickory will host the 2011 National Narrow Gauge Convention next Sept 7-10.
