My favorite Narrow Gauge is the ancient Toronto Grey & Bruce up in Canada. It only lasted from 1870 till it was standard gauged in 1881, so photos are very rare and artefacts even more so. [

There was only one known relic actually embossed with the road’s initials, and now there are two - a broken journal box lid unearthed in the middle of a cornfield where the railway once ran.
Last Friday was my first metal detecting foray of the year and it will be hard to top this find. Not bad condition considering it’s been buffeted by plows for more than 140 years.....
All cleaned up with the wire wheel.
Cheers,
Ralph
