This iconic image taken was taken on the Sumpter Valley Ry. by Hank Griffiths Jr. We see engine #251 west bound in Boulder Gorge. The trestle bridge in the scene replaced the Howe Truss structure known as Red Bridge which is captured in many early photos. Sadly, #251 has long been scrapped in Guatemala, but several things from this scene are extant. The tender behind #251 is the tender behind SVRy #19 today though with a new tank. Tank car #100 following the engine is also more or less extant at SVRR today. The scan is from the SVRR Archive.
