Handling Rail in the Early Days of SVRR

In the early days of Sumpter Valley Railroad Restoration Inc., the organization benefited tremendously through the generosity of Union Pacific providing used track materials. Here we see rails being unloaded at what today we call McEwen yard, with a piece of machinery intended for handling logs. It looks like it served the purpose for handling rail equally well.
