More Silverton track work

August 30, 2010 12:51AM
Work resumed on the new track work in Silverton after the D&S crew members got back from their Rail Fest assignments. They worked Saturday and Sunday, and should be back Monday. All the track is tied together and two switches are complete with all their parts. Rail braces are missing from the Cement Street switch leading into the engine house and those will be added. New ties replaced the original ties that were installed last year that came from the switch supplier and were incorrectly sized. And some work was initiated on the stub switch before the end of the day on Sunday. The 315 sits next to the depot enshrouded in its protective covers waiting for the track to be completed into the engine house.
