The Colorado state government department that supervises amusement park trains fined Tiny Town $30,500 having an untrained operator run the train on 30 occasions, according to the Denver Post.
The engineer apparently grabbed the throttle rather than the johnson bar, accelerating the train to more than 15 mph on a 3 mph curve.
(I said speed wasn't involved, boy was I wrong.).
What the Post didn't comment on was how much training this person received on operating a live steam locomotive ~ boiler management.
