40th Anniversary happenings

August 17, 2010 07:22AM
Just heard from Russ and Steve, and the slide show is going to be held in the public meeting room at the back of Fosters on Sunday, Aug 29th, and Monday, Aug 30th, between 7pm, and we have until 10pm each night! That should give us PLENTY OF TIME to hear about the early days of what those early guys found, and what they had to do to get the states to buy the R/R that we all enjoy.

Terry Ross is going to show the slides that he used to sell the states government on why the CATS needed to be saved. He is also bringing some interesting early CATS items for a give-away in the intermission in the middle. Ernie then plans to show slides, and I am told his recollections are great! If you have any questions about what those early saviors of the R/R did, NOW would be your time to ask them! Without these peoples efforts, the railroad we call the CATS would only be a memory!

Terry, Ernie, and it looks like (Chama Mayor at the time the states bought it) Eddie Vigil will be there as well to meet. The room holds 75+ people, so I hope that everyone interested shows up. We hope to see you there! John
