Many of the logs hauled down the Powder River into South Baker were destined for the Stoddard Lumber Co. This was the former Baker White Pine Lbr. Co. mill. It included dry kilns, planer and box factory. Here we see Sumpter Valley Ry. 30 ton Davenport diesel #101 in charge of a long string of log cars at the Stoddard mill pond log dump. This engine survives today at the Colorado Railroad Museum as DRGW #50. The scan is from the SVRR Archive.
