Yesterday At Sumpter Valley #2

The first photo is of long time SVRR volunteer Dan Robirds who is a career short line engineer, often runs our #720 when it is used instead of steam and on this day was partnered with Jim Grigsby on fire patrol. The next shot is of #720 which was idling away. Love the sound of that big Cat V8 D379 diesel. The next shot shows flues ready to install in #19. And finally, I have included a photo of the location where our archive building is to be constructed. My wife Jane is standing at one near corner and 40 ft. over, Jim Grigsby at the other. The building is to be 20'x40'. In a nut shell, due to the dramatic increase in building material prices and coupled with the contractors having uncertainties with supply we find ourselves short of enough funds to complete the building, so will be looking for donations and grants to help fund the project.
