Rio Grande Engineer Jim Pearce Time Book October, 1959 - March, 1972

This is the latest Time Book I have transcribed. Jim worked out of Durango until early January 1960. He then went into management. He eventually became Road Foreman of Motive Power working out of Pueblo, CO. In this job he rarely was home.
In 1970 he survived a major heart attack and decided that he wanted to go back to running locomotives. The railroad allowed him to run the yard engine in Alamosa and then local jobs on the Creede and Antonito branches before allowing him to begin running over La Veta Pass. Jim moved his family to Alamosa and, including some stints running the Silverton train, he retired from this position at the end of 1993. I'm still transcribing his next Time Book and will post that when it is done.

One note I forgot is train 593/592 is an Antonito Branch train.
