Here is another favorite photo of the Sumpter Valley Ry. wedge plow. This is scanned from a print in the SVRR Archive Christensen Collection. The print has no ID on the back, but I believe I have been told that this scene was captured at Larch. The railroad had a small yard at Larch which is the summit between the Sumpter Valley and the Burnt River / Whitney side. I'll take a guess that the daily east bound passenger train is having a meet with the plow extra, which has cleared the main onto one of the sidings. We can see just enough of the engine shoving the plow to read that it is Mikado #16.
