Question for CATS "historians"

Last night I was going through some old VCR tapes and came across one I had made off the air of a Channel 6 Denver PBS show about Colorado rail. This was back a around '92 or '93. The segment about the CATS showed some footage from it's early days and either the angle or my eyes said the passenger cars were different from those I seen in older photos. They didn't look like any of what is in use now or the converted box car ones. They appeared to be painted in a two color scheme. Unfortunately my TV reception at the time really sucked( I was about 120 miles from Denver) and the color kept fading in and out so, what the true colors were I couldn't say. Does anyone have any info on these?
