Hi All-
Got back from my trip to Colorado; SLRG was amazing, I'd highly recommend it to those who haven't been on it yet (also rode on the Durango and Silverton- unfortunately the Cumbres and Toltec was out of the family budget this trip). Anyway I have a question about locomotive blowdowns, namely how often is a blowdown performed? On the ride back from La Veta (especially near Alamosa) it seemed like the fireman was doing this almost every mile (I may be exaggerating; it was pretty frequent though). Any particular reason, or was this normal?
