On August 27 2021 engine 168 double headed the Classic Passenger Train with 315 (425) from Antonito to Cumbres Pass. 315 took the train down to Chama, while 168 remained on the pass overnight. Chase Bond kept the engine hot overnight. Early in the morning on Saturday, August 28, 168 ran light engine from Cumbres to Chama for the first time in more than 80 years. Scott Gibbs, General Manager of the C&TS, fired, and Max Casias worked as engineerr.
168 has moved to the summit stand pipe and is ready to start down the 4 percent grade as the first direct sunlight touches the engine
