Here's another shot taken after abandonment but before scrapping. This shot is also from Brian Norden's collection. The photographer was standing on the edge of the old highway going over Montgomery Pass. The "Now" shot was taken on June 19, 2010. Due to more recent road construction I'm in relatively the same location.
What is amazing is that many of the trees appear in both photos. This section of the rr grade is so well preserved that it looks like it would be relatively easy to relay track again.
This will be my last "Then" and "Now" shot for a few weeks as I'm heading out of town shortly for a 6 week road trip.
