The Three Foot Films team, Steve Forney and I, have been unable to get to Narrow Guage Country this year, the first time in ten years, so it been a time of scouring the quite substantial archive of video clips amassed since 2009 for gems mislaid, code for filed away on a hard drive and forgotten, or in this case, from September 28, 2015, rediscovered.
At an event, after this length of time that I can't be 100% sure was organised by the friends of the railroad, two K 36 locomotives 484 and 489 recreate a Chama Turn. Visually, on the face of it, this clip looks great, but I suspect listening to it now I understand why the clip was never published at the time. Just as the magic happens with the locomotive and the train appearing to rise out of the ground, a truck grinds passed drowning out the locomotive and train. Later in the clip, the huge amount of train fans present to chase can be heard rushing past in their cars to the next photo opportunity.
