Black Hills Abandoned Railroads Map

The following link is to my work in progress to develop an interactive map of all abandoned rail lines in the South Dakota Black Hills including all narrow gauge lines.

Narrow gauge lines are depicted with a half line weight, standard gauge lines with a full line weight and three railed lines have a yellow highlight. All lines, with the exception of temporary logging lines, have been mapped. They are located with a high degree of precision from historic aerial photos and topo maps so that the great majority are accurate to within +- 50' laterally. All station stops have also been mapped to similar levels of precision. Clicking on many of the placemarks and rail lines will open relevant photos and text. The intent is to have detailed text descriptions of every map element and photo illustrations where available.
