In a series of clandestine private messages it appears that I have been promoted (or is it demoted ?) to the rank of Curmudgeon. In honor of this occasion I thought I would do what it is Curmudgeons are expected to do - post photos of long forgotten events on the narrow gauge. So here is 483 at the head end of the last Rocky Mountain RR Club 3-day Memorial Day Weekend excursion in 1966. On the return run from Durango to Alamosa the train stopped at Gato for 483 to take on water and to make a runby past the tank.
The runby is complete and the train is ready for re-boarding when the fans have finished exploring Gato
