A conversation today resulted in a question for the narrow gauge experts:
"Where was the busiest main line on the Rio Grande narrow gaurge, fort any time period?" You could even expand that to "Busiest Colorado narrow gauge".
How "busiest" is defined is up to you. It could be amount of tonnage, the number of trains, or even the combination of everything that resulted in the most track maintenance requirements.
I'm wondering how the D&SNG faired when they ran 4 roundtrips to Silverton and a Cascade turn daily.
