Railway police and narrow gauge railroads

Up until a few years ago, I did not know railroads had their own police force, though it does make sense. They have a lot of valuable items they are responsible for during the shipping process not to mention all the buildings, structures, and property.

Did any of the narrow gauge railroads have police? Given the fact huge amounts of silver were shipped over the San Juan extension it would make sense. Does anyone know?
