The discussion about my book projects and research materials led me to give some thought to how best to preserve the materials. I have made contact with a local museum and if they wish the materials, I will make provisions in my will to donate my collection 5 years after my death. The museum can decide whether to make the materials public. The collection includes many file cabinets of documents, maps, and drawings, most copies but a number of originals. I have a fair amount of original D&RGW materials given to me by the late Jack Thode. I also have a number of original negatives and slides from Dick Kindig, Bob Richardson and others. I do not know how many more years God will give me, but this way the materials will be preserved.
Those who want the snow fighting book project should understand that even if I decided to do it, I could not complete it for 5 or 6 years as I have other book projects to complete first.
