(1) It was mentioned that there was 2 loads of Wallboard on the last trip to Farmington. What was the name of the place it was going. I have conflicting names here. I have (a) Farmington Lumber & Hardware, or (b)San Juan Hardware in Farmington????
Note: I was unsure where these loads started, but a Russ Sperry slide confirmed they started in Alamosa. His shot near Lobo Lodge shows two such cars at the rear of the train in the distance. This makes sense because they would then be left at Carbon Junction near Durango, and would be leading southbound to Farmington, which is nearly the case, which leads me to question 2.
(2) There is a flat car load of rails behind 483, and just ahead of the two flatcars of wallboard. Someone mentioned that it was perhaps for cattle-guards. Can anyone confirm this or any other info on this load?
It was added in Durango.
(3) On August 19th we know 483 took a work train to Toltec with a bulldozer to work on clearing a slide near Phantom curve. This had to be cleared before the last freight of course. Is there any record of the consist of this train and when the dozer came back to Alamosa?
I had originally assumed the dozer was brought back with 483, but I am now thinking it was on the very last freight back to Alamosa. In another Russ Sperry slide in the video we are using, the next to last shot shows the train heading north of Antontio, and clearly there is a box car, then a flat with a dozer behind the box car after the tender. The shots earlier in the day east of Cumbres is all Box cars. Therefore this bulldozer was picked up someplace between Los Pinos and Antonito.
