The WW&F Railway Museum is pleased to announce its first ever Summer Work Weekend "Rock the Mountain" on July 20 & 21.
With the help of our triumphant volunteers who worked rain or some shine during our Spring Work Weekend we were able to ballast most of the Mountain track that we built last fall. As we ballasted the track we knew we would need more ballast in a few areas. With that, here is a brief explination of the work we hope to accomplish during the Summer Work Weekend.
1.) Our primary goal is to ballast any areas that need it on the Mountain, including a few spots that may need a second lift.
2.) Line the track as needed and dress ballast as the tamper resumes.
3.) There may be a small shop project or two going on, or some organizing of materials for the Fall Work Weekend.
This summer we will once again be extremely busy trying to achieve multiple projects. For those who have not yet been to or visited the railroad, please make the trip. It is well worth the visit, and lunch and or a dinner will be provided to our volunteers.
Steam passenger trains will be run, as well as the possibilty of a steam and or diesel work train(s).
The mountain continues to be a very impressive piece of railroad, and for those of us who have not made it out to C&T yet, gives us a true appreciation of mountain railroading.
