I was checking out the outfit car this past Saturday that the D&S exchanged for the 04914 that I owned and that they sold to the Ridgway museum. We are in the preliminary planning stage to move this car to Silverton along with the SN caboose that is sitting on an adjacent flat car. I had not noticed before that there are several large hooks on the one side and I surmise that these may have been used to hang a water hose to connect the rotary with a water car. Does anyone know if this was the case? See some pictures at:

This particular outfit car was a kitchen car for the rotary outfit and has caboose trucks. I'm presently working on an idea that will have us build a service track in front of our new building that can then connect with the rebuilt SN line out in the street. We are being asked by the historical society to do the restoration work on the caboose, and it will be handy to have it right in front of our building. So we're thinking of building the siding first, then there'll be no choice but to build a railroad for it to connect to.
