I went to the Quincy Mine Historic Site last month and discovered that the engine house is in the process of being restored. Workers had removed the remains of the roof and cleared out the engine pits. Plans are to re-roof the enginehouse and place the locomotives back inside for display.
There were several pallets loaded with various metal pieces found during the excavation, including link and pin couplers, locomotive drawbar pins, angle cocks, etc. There was no mention of how much track was to be laid. It's nice to see that the building and locomotive will not be allowed to rust into oblivion.
