[2 foot] Monson 3 needs heavy boiler work

Monson 3 which is in Boothbay for a tube job and some crown sheet repairs, began to tell a story of a boiler which was not fit for service without heavy repairs. Below is a link to the update from Bob Troup at the SR&RL preservation group, describing the restoration which was supposed to be out of Boothbay last year and reassembled by now.

The cubic money theory might apply here. Boiler repairs were supposed to cost $18,000 and have already exceeded $30,000 and they are nowhere near finished. Donations accepted at the SR&RL website or send a check.
