2010 East Broad Top Railroad Schedule

March 18, 2010 09:06PM
The East Broad Top Railroad would like to officially announce our schedule for the first half of 2010!

On opening day, June 5, 2010, join us in celebration as we kick off our 50th Anniversary with day long events and special train operations. Honored guests, including political dignitaries, will speak in the morning. Our usual schedule of steam train operations will be at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm, with the highlight of the day being a train at 7:00pm to Colegate Grove, where a catered meal will be served. Once the train returns to Rockhill, a slide show and movies will be presented chronicling the East Broad Top's rich and colorful history.

Also during Opening Day, visitors will be able to browse our gift shop, recently expanded with new gifts and memorabilia, including commemorative 50th Anniversary items. Commemorative tickets will be available for $25.00, which entitles you to a steam train ride, one speeder ride, one shop and roundhouse tour, and an entry for a chance to win a large, custom framed East Broad Top photographic print. All this and more at the East Broad Top Railroad 50th Anniversary celebration on June 5th, 2010!

Don't forget about our other events through August.

June 18 and 19 - Central PA Ragtime Festival
We will be hosting the second annual Central PA Ragtime festival sponsored by the Iron Rail Bed & Breakfast. Don't miss out on this unique event, featuring Adam Swanson, Bill Edwards, Bryan Wright, Andrew Green and the debut of a 12- piece ragtime orchestra!

Monday, July 5, 2010
We will be operating Monday after Independence Day following our regular operating schedule of 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

July 17 - Fireworks Train
We will once again be operating our Fireworks train where passengers will be able to view a fireworks display from our train. The steam powered train will depart at 8:00pm and stop on the return trip in time for the fireworks. Popcorn and beverages will be available once the train stops.

August 14 and 15 - Community Appreciation Day and Civil War Weekend
Always a favorite is our civil war weekend where Union and Confederate troops invade Rockhill. Both days the soldiers will depict life during one of America's most trying times. We are expecting a much larger turnout this year and is sure to be an unforgettable experience! For Saturday August 14 ONLY, regular adult coach fares will be reduced to $10.00. Children's fares will remain $8.00. Upgrades will be required for the caboose and parlor car.

We hope to see you at the East Broad Top in 2010!
