Pacific Coast Narrow Gauge

July 01, 2018 08:27AM
Hello,

Having recently come across a photo of one its locomotives - #105, an inside frame 2-8-0 built by Baldwins, and visibly a sister loco to the D&RGW C18 class - can anyone tell me anything about a railroad with the name "Pacific Coast?" I have heard that there was once a 3ft gauge network in Southern California, and that one of its former depots is now in use as the main passenger station on the Knotts Berry Farm tourist railroad. Was that it, and how much of it remains, especially grade, buildings and locos/rolling stock?

Curious,

Chris
