Uintah Mallet rumors?

Hello,
While living in Colorado, I heard from an acquaintance that 250 went to Peru or some other South American country. I am highly curious about this. Both mallets were in pieces spread from Escuintla to Puerto Barrios. If you know about this or any other plausible rumor regarding the two mallets, please let me know.

P.S. For what it is worth, I recall Sammy King stating that he saw 251's boiler in service at Puerto Barrios in 1989.
