489's Green Boiler

This is most of a post that Jimmy Blouch made on the NGDF on September 7 2009:

"This was Rocky Mountain Railroad Club excursion, May 21, 1950.

The trip ran from Salida to Monarch to Villa Grove and back to Salida.
Consist was baggage car 164, coaches 284, 320, 280 and 319 along with the "Silver Vista".
The entire train could not be wyed at Monarch, however the consist was put back in order at Poncha Jct. Entire train wyed at Villa Grove for return to Salida."
