As spring weather continues we are gearing up for a busy summer in Como. There are many projects underway and a few that are nearing completion. Here are just a few of the recent activities surrounding the Como Project.
Phil Carney is nearing completion of the period headlights for the front of the roundhouse, They will soon be ready to install on the building.
Jason Midyette has undertaken he construction of a push cart for use by the track crew. His usual craftsmanship is evident in this useful addition to the project.
More rail and other track material is being delivered from Breckenridge this week. There is now nearly a mile of rail awaiting installation by the volunteer track crew.
Keith Gotschall delivered the pushbars today. Mike Perschbacher acquired the raw 10 foot 8 X * timbers and Keith turned them on his wood lathe - and even delivered them!
They will be installed on the turntable along with the locking mechanism once the decking is in place on the bridge
.
Construction of additional grade in front of the hotel is currently underway now that the weather has improved.
As always we appreciate all the generous support given as we continue to restore the Como railyard.
