I have Nils Huxtable's Narrow Gauge Memories 2010 calendar, and for March there is a picture of a Cuban 2'6" 2-8-0, number 1315 (Baldwin 1905). This beauty has three domes. I get that the middle dome with the whistle is the steam dome, but does it have 2 sand domes? The caption said that the engine faced short but steep grades, so I guess I see the reason for it, but couldn't they just fill the sand after every trip?
Thanks.
Mark
