Huge, L.C.----------Do
Some interesting notes: There was a gap of 10 years in which no one was promoted to engineer. Part of this time was when Alpine Tunnel was closed, which probably meant a reduction in freight.
John Farthings, who ran the Denver-Como section of the last Leadville passenger train, was still firing in 1910. Fred Tingle, hired 7-7-1910, was later involved in a head-on collision with a passenger train in Broomfield in 1958. He and two others were killed in the wreck.
I don't know if the McGowen listed was the same engineer killed in the 346 runaway on Kenosha Pass in 1936. It would seem to me that he wasn't because he was still running a freight engine while a junior man, (Farthings) was running the passenger train. More research is called for.
I don't know what ``do'' meant behind L.C. Huge's name.
