Interesting track on the D&S

The D&S Winter Photographers Special had a photostop at MP 472.4 which they described as "repeat curves". According the the D&S trip brochure "...these curves were not part of the original railroad grade alignment. The flash flood in September of 1970 completely washed away this relatively straight section of track and roadbed. The D&RGW hastily rebuilt the railroad, following the contour of the canyon walls more closely...the resulting re-laid track forms a double "S" or "repeated curve". Here is what I captured on "film" with the help of a telephoto lens.
