Yesterday we unloaded another car at Como. It was cold and windy. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pictures because my iPhone kept shutting down in the cold. Below is a description of the car provided by Jason Midyette who directed our efforts, and did a lot of the work, yesterday:
The car was donated to the SPRS by Lindsey Ashby. It is a former Rio Grande car that Mr. Ashby bought from the scrapper (Floyd Reed) who was cutting up most of the D&RGW's narrow gauge cars in Alamosa in the early 1970's. #1267 was present on the Colorado Central Narrow gauge in Central City and was moved to the Georgetown Loop in 1981. It was moved to Parkdale in 2004, never having been used on the CC or the Loop. D&RGW cars of this series (1200-1499) routinely passed through Como in the early 1920's loaded with coal (most likely from the Baldwin branch) headed for Fairplay.
