When is the last time anyone saw that baby in operation? I understand this video is almost 3 years ago, but work on the tipple continues. John Sutkus and his crews have been working on that thing for a LONG TIME! Not only replacing the rotted mud sill which has been collapsing for decades causing the tipple lean, but they built a concrete grade beam to prevent the problem from happening again. John has S-L-O-W-L-Y been jacking plumb again over a period of several years to avoid stressing the beams that have been bent for a long time.
The lean has caused the tracks for the tipple ore buckets to rack and bend causing the buckets to get stuck more often than not, so John and his team replaced all of the tracks and repaired damaged parts as necessary. Pretty impressive piece of repair and stay with it until it's done by the Friends organization and in Particular John Sutkus for masterminding the repair.
