In 1929 the Alamosa Division had 160 men in the engine service. By 1978 the number was 14. In 1933 F.L. Hindle was senior engineer with a fireman's date of 11-01-1883 and an engineer's date of 1-13-1889. He may have gotten to run and fire engines over the original La Veta Pass if that was his territory. There was no standard gauge and definately no diesels.

I don't know when Don Gibbs went into management. He would have been between Andy Payne and Jim Shawcroft. Gibbs worked for the railroad into the early UP era.
