April 13, 1895s Silverton Standard
William Booker, master mechanic of the Silverton railroad, left last Thursday [4/11/1895] for Denver to bring in five engines for his road. One engine will be used on the passenger to Ironton, two for freight on the Silverton road, one for switching in the yards here and one for the construction train. This is official as it comes direct from the handsome master mechanic himself.

April 20,1895s Silverton Standard
Cole Lydon [D&RG Superintendent] came in yesterday in his private car to look after business at this end of the line.
The first ties for the Eureka branch were hauled on the ground Wednesday. Track laying will soon commence.
W. E. Booker, master mechanic of the Silverton railroad, returned from Denver Tuesday. The boys started with the engines Monday [4/15/1895].
Next week the work of laying the sidetrack to the Little Dora Mill will be commenced. Everything is graded and all that is necessary is putting down the ties and rails.
