NCNGRR Musem Restoration Projects

West Side utility flat #265 was put into service this week after a total rebuild by the NCNGRR museum in Nevada City, CA. The flat was used to receive the 32 foot long sills for West Side gondola #10 which is also receiving a total rebuild this year. This car was dismantled in 2004 and parts stored on site.
S.P. narrow gauge flat #255 has also been funded for repairs this year. The car needs a new lateral sill, draft gear sills and one needle beam.
Projected funded restoration projects for 2011 will be West Side flat #203 and NCNG tankcar #187 which both have extensive dry rot problems.
Parts for S.P. gondola #233 and West Side block car "B" (slab car and former flat #79) are being inventored for future projects.
