I've read that the original goose cost about $300-$350 (in 1935 dollars). The other day I was out at my storage shed and was looking at my RGS materials and they easily retailed about three times the cost of the first goose. The only real advantage is that my books are in a storage shed safe from the prying eyes of my better half. Hard to have a goose in the front yard & explain it away as "yard art".
