Hi,

The image of 485 at the bottom at Salida in 1929 brought three quick and not possible ideas to mine.

The thing that SEEMS to be striking the pilot might be:

1) a mini sub diving from the air,
2) a UFO attacking the pilot, or
3) an improperly mounted wedge snowplow.

The question I have is what that image is really. It might be something on a flat car and the rest is hidden by the 485. It might also be a retaining wall or chute of some sort behind the railroad.

Any ideas?
