Emma Nevada Fundrasing Private Railcar Excursion

Join us for a private railroad car excursion from Los Angeles Union Station to San Luis Obispo and back, on Saturday, October 15, 2016. We will be traveling aboard the Dome Dining Car, "Silver Splendor" and the lounge car, "Acoma". All to benefit the steam locomotive "Emma Nevada" project!

If you have visited the Southern California Railroad Museum lately and stopped by the Grizzly Flats barn, you have seen that work is well underway on the running gear of this classic 1881 narrow gauge Baldwin steam locomotive.

Enjoy the 113 miles of amazing scenery as we travel along the Pacific coast line. Much of this route is away from highways and offers views you just don't get traveling by automobile.

We will depart from Union Station in downtown Los Angeles at 7:50 am on Pacific Surfliner #1761, with a light breakfast of fruit and pastries. We arrive in San Luis Obispo at 1:00 pm, with lunch served shortly thereafter. It's a quick turn around as we depart from San Luis Obispo at 2:00 pm on Pacific Surfliner #1790. Dinner will be served along the way and we arrive back into Los Angeles at 7:20 pm.

Member of the project team will be aboard the excursion to share updates, along with special guests and a silent auction of items to tempt fans of narrow gauge railroading, Disney animation and more!

The fare for this daylong trip is $280, which includes meals and beverages aboard. A portion of each fare will be a donation to the Emma Nevada project.
