I was looking through census data while tracking down some family members and took a detour over to CO. I was curious to see what I would find in Conejos county along the NG. In the 1900 census I found two pages devoted specifically to stations along the line.
Page 1 lists the inhabitants of "Osier Village". A number of prospectors, shepherds and day laborers.
Page 2 of this precinct lists individuals at "Osier, Los Pinos, Cumbres and Cresco D&RG stations". 50 or so individuals. 19 are listed as RR laborers and 2 operators.
Page 4 of this precinct lists individuals at "Big Horn, Sublette and Toltec D&RG Stations" a total of about 50 individuals. I don't see any RR related titles. Everyone is either a "day laborer" or "at school".
