I'm wondering how No. 278 got to Montrose from Gunnison when it was donated in 1953? Was it trucked across Cerro Summit, or by flatcar, Gunnison-Salida-Grand Jct.-Montrose?
Also, have any decisions been reached on displaying it at Cimarron? I certainly hope it will be provided shelter, lest the restoration be ruined by the weather again in another ten years. I'd vote for a replica of the Cimarron enginehouse, even though the enginehouse era doesn't jive with the flying Rio Grande era. I've come to believe that restoration without protection afterward is largely a waste of time and money and the next generation would just as soon scrap it as restore it again.
