I was just curious if steam made an appearance. Perhaps I missed something on the website. Thanks.

The last steam locomotive ran in passenger service to the summit of Pikes Peak on a special run with the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club in 1958. It was locomotive number 4 which the railway still owns. In the 1980's this locomotive was returned to service and was used on trips up the mountain, some 2 miles to Minnehaha and one to Mountain View (4- miles). Over the last 15 years number 4 has seen very limited service (1994-2004) only operating in the yard area in Manitou Springs. This locomotive during the last year has been under going cylinder repair work and soon....
FALL 2009 will begin operating on limited runs. Watch the Manitou & Pikes Peak website for updated information. Plans are to operate the locomotive in the yard area and up the tack a short distance this year.
Along with one of the original 1890 coaches.
