I just got back from a short three day trip to Yosemite National Park, On our way in, and out we stoped by the YMSPRR so I could take a few pictures. Now the last time I visited the suger pine RR was about 15 years ago, so getting to see the former West Side shays again was great now that I love narrow gauge. Even if they were not running. The season is over for the YMSPRR, but the gate was open so we pulled in. I didn't see anyone around that worked there, so I couldn't ask for a tour of the shop but that was ok because I only had about 15min to look around. Anyway here are some pics I took.
Sorry some of these pics are not very good.
This is the engine shed as you walk up to it.
Former West Side #15 and #10.
The 10 seems to be under some state of repair, I did notice that the sheet metal that covers the top of the cylinders was sitting outside. You can also see some parts sitting on the frame for the tender tank above the third truck.
Here is there diesel and an ex West Side toolcar.
They call these "Jenny railcars". They are made from Ford model A parts.
