I see two things of note on this day. Under "Special Movements" which we have seen in previous days with a move(s) over the SVRy mainline of a logging engine for a short distance, on this date the movement is all the way back to Baker with a pilot engineer. The other short moves did not list a pilot. 2nd small point of interest is "Styx" shown in "supplement to WORK TRAINS".. Often times people refer to the large trestle down grade from Larch on the Whitney side that was in use till the line was pulled in 1947, as Alder Springs trestle. In all rr paperwork that I have seen the trestle was referred to as Styx as shown here. Alder Springs was a passing siding between Styx and Larch which also had a telephone shed for receiving train orders. I believe locals refer to this location as "Telephone Springs" just to add to confusion.
