RGS #20 Paint Question

Morning,

I have received a request for information on RGS #20 that I'm not sure I can answer.

I'm sure several of you would know this better than I do, so here goes, thanks in advance:



I am in the process of doing some research on the RGS No. 20, in preparation for detailing and painting an On3 No. 20 locomotive with the ship painting on the tender. My question is, after the RGS got the No. 20 back from the movie people (in 1948?) and re-painted the RGS name on the tender, did they eventually re-touch up all the red and silver trim...but leave the ship painting on the tender? Or did they just leave all the movie paint on (with the RGS name on the tender), until they re-painted the entire locomotive back into the sunrise herald?
