Yard cranes

Did the narrow gauge railroads in the Rockies have fixed cranes in there yards for unloading freight cars, here in Australia, virtually every yard had a yard crane of some description (various styles used through out the country), the question was asked by an mate after my recent trip to Colorado whether I had seen any cranes and I realised I hadn't. If there were no cranes, what was used to unload heavy loads from flat cars and gons (farm machinery and that sort of thing). Any photos would be welcome, I can supply an email address if that would be easier for photo transfer, assuming there are photos of cranes.
I'm sure Roger could provide some stunning photos but I don't want the winged variety. LOL
